The German military used a wide variety of light trucks with the majority just being basic commercial vehicles.¹

Variants

• Austro Daimler ADGR: Could carry 3 tons of cargo.²
• Borgward B1000: 1 ton cargo carrier.² Was part of the Schell standardization plan.²
• Büssing-NAG 3G16: Used 60 HP engine with a capacity of 9,350 cc.² Could carry 3,000 kg of cargo.²
• Büssing-NAG G31: Used a 65 HP four cylinder engine with a capacity of 3,920 cc.² Could carry 1,500 kg of cargo.²
• Daimler-Benz 1500:
• Daimler-Benz 1500A: The design was to be the standard 2 ton truck in production.¹
• Daimler-Benz G3: 6x4 suspension.¹ Design from 1928 and used mostly with the railroads.¹ Could carry 1,500 kg of cargo.²
• Daimler-Benz G3A: Could carry 1,800 kg of cargo.²
• Daimler-Benz LgJ3000: Used a diesel engine.² Could carry 3,000 kg of cargo.²
• Krupp Kfz 81:
• Krupp-Protze L2H43: 6x4.² Used four cylinder 55 HP, horizontally placed, air cooled engine with a capacity of 3,308 cc.² Could carry 1,150 kg.² Independent coil spring suspension.²
• Krupp-Protze L2H143: 60 HP engine.² Not only carried cargo, but was modified to be searchlight, artillery tractor, and telephone trucks.²
• Leichter Geländegängiger Einheits Wehrmacht Lastwagen (light cross country standard army truck):
• Phaenomen Granit, Phänomen Granit: 4x2.² Air cooled petrol 50 HP engine with a capacity of 2,678 cc.^1,2 Poor off road capability.¹ 1 1/2 ton cargo carrier that was a part of the Schell standardization plan.² Primarily used as an ambulance.²
• Praga RV: Built in Czechoslovakia.²
• Steyr Model 640: Air cooled V-8 engine.¹ 6x4 chassis.¹ Was used as cargo carrier, ambulance, and command car.¹ Could carry 1.5 tons of cargo.² Built in Austria.²
• Steyr 1500: 4x4.²
• Tatra 92: Could carry 2 tons of cargo.² Built in Czechoslovakia.² Had a air cooled V-8 engine with a capacity of 3,980 cc.²

Usage

Borgward 1500

The Borgward 1500 were not well liked as they performed very poorly on the Eastern Front.² When temperatures dropped it became very hard to steer.²
